Pastor Sandi Conley

Since 2017

Sandi has been a United Methodist pastor since 2003 and an Ordained Elder in the South Georgia Annual Conference since 2009.  Her home church was Grace UMC in Tifton. She attended Tifton First UMC in the early 1980s.  Sandi served the Cobbtown/Langston Charge, about an hour West of Savannah, for the last four years. Her other appointments have been Barney/Grace-Tifton Associate, the Lumber City/Dodge's Chapel Charge, and the Broxton Charge.


Sandi has a love for reading and learning about new people, places, and things.  She graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School in 1976 and Palm Beach Junior College in 1977.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from the University of South Florida in 1979 and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2003. Following her college graduation in 1979, she moved to Tift County, Georgia.


Sandi enjoys college football and loves to follow Ohio State, University of South Florida, and University of Georgia.  She has two children and three grandchildren and travels to visit them when she can.  One of her favorite trips was to Israel in 2015.


The Bible verse that best describes her call to ministry is Isaiah 611:1. "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners...".

Cheryl Vinson

Since 2016

Cheryl comes to us as our Director of Children's Ministries. A Worth County native, she resides in Lee County with her husband of 17 years, Jason, and their daughter, Kayla. Jason and Cheryl also have an older daughter, Britney, son-in-law, Brook, and a granddaughter, Baylee Grace


Cheryl began her studies in theology and Biblical studies and is currently pursuing her licensing as a Clinical Christian Therapist. Cheryl holds certifications as a Post-Abortion Counselor, in Crisis Pregnancy Counseling and Healthy Sexuality Counseling, and she is currently serving as the Chairperson for Lee County Family Connections.


She comes with several years of experience as director of Children's Ministries as well as co-leading small groups for married couples with her husband, Jason, in their home.

Catherine Ivey

Since 2011

A native of Leesburg, GA and Bronwood, GA Cathy has been a Christian all her life.  She attended Lee County schools to 10th grade and graduated from Terrell Academy in 1987.


She is a member of First Baptist of Albany with her husband, Bubba (married in 1991) and her youngest child, Anna Catherine. Cathy is also a proud mother of two son, Gaughf and Chapman who are enrolled at Valdosta State University and one step-daughter, Leigh Ann from Atlanta, GA.


After working at Phoebe Putney for 19 years, Cathy made a change in her career and began her administrative duties at Christ UMC in July 2011.  She is a member of the Professional Association of United Methodist Church Secretaries and received her certification in 2012.  


Her hobbies include loving her animals, going to the beach, fishing, knitting and running when able. Cathy loves people and her Lord.  She loves to share with others her favorite verse James 4:8...Draw nearer to God and He will draw nearer to you.


Carolyn Privett

Since 1989


Carolyn provides care for the babies in Christ's nursery and has been working at Christ UMC since 1989.


A native from Oakfield, GA, Carolyn has been loving babies for as long as she can remember. Before school age, she and her family moved to Smithville, GA where she attended school up to 7th grade because that was the highest level of school the town had.  She was able to finish her schooling by attending the Lee County school system and became a Trojan alumni in 1956.  


After graduating from Lee County High, she married Duane Privett who was currently serving in the Marines when they meet.  Carolyn has often said he was a good looking man in his uniform.   They are proud parents of four children, six grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.


Hobbies are reading, shopping and rocking babies.


Freddie Johnson

Since 2008

Freddie has been lived in Albany for 30 years. She is a native of Fort Gaines, Georgia and is the youngest of 11 siblings. She attended Clay County Schools and graduated in 1982. 


She enrolled at Albany Tech in the food services program and studied Cosmetology. 


She is the proud mother of two children, Dellrel and LaTisha. Between her two children, she has five grandsons who currently live in the Atlanta or Albany areas.


Freddie was hired in 2008 to work at Christ UMC's Day Care Program.  She was the lead teacher for the Toddlers for 4 years.  She was later hired as a Nursery Assistant on Sundays and Wednesdays.


Her hobbies include shopping, sports, and working.

Arthur Lowe

Since 2016

Arthur was born and raised in Albany, Georgia.  Graduated from Monroe High School.   He has two children and two grand-boys who all but one currently live in Albany.


He is retired from Coats and Clark after 16 years.  Arthur has worn many hats with many companies such as Pioneer Chemical, Bobs Candy, ALCON & Pellicano Construction company. That is one of the many reasons he is a perfect fit at Christ UMC. 


Arthur's has a big love for football and follows the Monroe High Tornadoes and Dallas Cowboys every football season. His hobbies include fishing and gardening.


We are blessed to have Arthur take care of our church and its needs. 

Willie Mae Robinson

Since 2003

Willie Mae has been a true inspiration at Christ UMC.  Her love for people is shown with her smile and hugs.  She is a hard worker in all she does and a great cook.


Willie Mae is from Sasser, Gerogia and currently lives in Albany, GA.  She has four children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  She comes from a family of eight siblings.  One of her proudest moments was seeing her son for the first time after boot camp in Paris Island.


Her hobbies are fishing, cooking and cleaning.


Her favorite bible verse is Psalm 23...The Lord is my Shepherd.
